The wait is over. Here's a compilation of higher educational institutions
all over the country that offer the best college education.
According to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), these universities "have demonstrated the highest degree or level of standard along the areas of instruction, research and extension".
This
article adopts the “PhilStar ranking” published last year for this year’s
update. The ranking is based on the number of centers of excellence (COE)
and centers of development (COD) awarded
by CHED: 1 COD = 1 point; while 1 COE = 2 points.
The
COEs and CODs are higher education institutions with the highest degree or
level of standards in the areas of instruction, research and extension. On this
list, the university systems (such as the UP, MSU, and USEP systems) are treated
on a campus-to-campus basis, separately, as per CHED’s format.
Take
note, however, that the COEs and CODs do not reflect the overall performance of
a university. The data reflected here are taken from the CHED records as of 20
August 2014. These designations remain valid until 31 May 2015.
